Another first

Evan is currently asleep in Nathan’s his crib… I hope this goes well, but at the same time I am a little sad. I have loved having Evan in his bassinet next to me so that I don’t have to get out of bed in the middle of the night to feed him. But he’s becoming more of a restless sleeper and he is also getting too big for the bassinet. I think he may sleep through the night if I don’t hear his little noises at 3 am and turn the lights on to see what he’s up to. And if he sleeps through the night that means I can too. It is time.

CORRECTION (10 minutes later): No longer asleep. That didn’t take long. I just peeked in to find two bright eyes open and staring at me. No screaming, though, so that’s a little odd. It may be a long night…

That’s good he wasn’t crying – right? – or not. I guess we need to know how the rest of the night went!

Either way, good luck! Hope you all got some sleep!

So. That was a bad night. He escaped from his swaddling blanket and tried to smother himself with it. Even though he wasn’t crying I couldn’t really just leave him there. Then, of course, he was wide awake. Until after 2am. After re-swaddling I decided not to take any more chances and put him back in the bassinet and we slept until six. Bad baby.
