That was what Nathan declared on the ride home from the local shelter as our new (slightly used) dog slobbered all over the back of his head.
Who could say no to that face? Clearly we couldn’t. We also like it the Gus.
Gus is a four year old mastiff who is reported to have been rescued from “a bad situation” at a daycare. He is possibly a little taller than Penelope was, but we found out today that he is only 115 pounds and our vet doesn’t think he needs to put on too much more weight. He is missing a front toenail and the tip of his tail is a little messed up. We don’t know much more than that, but so far he is very tolerant of people of all sizes, even the 2 and half year old variety. He seems confused by other dogs and unsure about what to do with them, but we also haven’t had much of an opportunity to test that out.
He’s only been home with us since Saturday night, but he is settling right in and we are very happy to have been able to give him a new family and a new home. I tried to get some more pictures, but he kept trying to crawl into my lap instead of sitting prettily to have his picture taken. We’ll work on that and get back to you. =)
