I should be sleeping…

but I think it’s about time that our exciting news makes it on the blog.

Nathaniel James was born on July 5th at 6:01am. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4oz and was 19.5 inches long. We are slowly figuring each other out and recovering from the C-section that brought him into the world.

Right now he is thinking about waking up for a feeding, so I will work on posting the rest of that story another time. Perhaps once we’re home. I can’t believe how busy things are in the hospital! We woke up at 6:30 this morning, ordered breakfast at 7am, talked to my mom a little bit and then the parade of people and procedures started (final count – 3 OB residents, 2 pediatricians, 4 nurses, and a couple of general staff folks) . Poor Mike arrived just as the chaos was subsiding around 10am. Who knew that he needed to be here so early for all the fun?!
