I have spent entirely too much time sitting on my couch in the last week and there is a lot of nothing on TV. Thank goodness that at nearly anytime of the day or night you are guaranteed to find one of the Law & Order franchise of TV shows on one or another of the cable channels. I have watched A LOT of Law & Order. (and yes, there is a marathon on today. the original series, not one of the spin-offs. and yes, it’s playing on my TV at this very moment.)
We did go to a movie today, though. We saw Get Smart. Not quite as hilarious as I was expecting, but still entertaining. And almost distracting enough to keep me from getting my hopes up about the crampy feelings going on in my belly region. Almost. But don’t worry, baby smashed my hopes again and the crampiness is gone. boo. Time to go walking again, I guess.
I found out the schedule for the midwives and now I am even more determined than ever that this baby needs to be born before induction date. The midwife that I like the least is on call on induction day. Not that she is bad, just that I don’t connect with her very well and she’s not terribly personable. She’s the one that lectured me several times about my weight gain while all of the others have told me not to worry that I am doing just fine (even though I gained another 2kg last week!). She doesn’t think Mike and I are funny, and she doesn’t seem to know how to respond to us. I’ll admit that we are odd and some of our humor is not necessarily appropriate, but the other midwives at least pretend that we are funny and a couple of them even occasionally join in. I’m just way more comfortable with ANY of the other midwives.
Well, anyway. That’s my update for the day. The dog and I will be going out for a walk soon. Everyone pray, hope, wish, do whatever you do that baby makes an appearance soon. Before Tuesday. Please.
P.S. I nearly forgot to tell you about my important discovery! McDonald’s iced vanilla coffee is nearly as yummy as the Dunkin’ Donuts version. And since there is only one Dunkin’ Donuts store in my state and it is 40-something miles from here, I guess “nearly as yummy” will have to do. Hooray!
